Pre-Matric Merit Scholarship for VJNT/SBC/SC Students, Maharashtra 2017-18, Class 9
The Social Justice and Special Assistance Department, Government of Maharashtra invites applications from meritorious VJNT/SBC/SC students of Class 5 to 10 for Pre-Matric Merit Scholarship 2017-18. The key objective of the scholarship is to motivate students of backward classes for education.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the scholarship, an applicant must:
- Belong to SBC/VJNT/SC category
- Be studying in Class 5 to 10. Have secured 50% or more in his/her previous year's examination
- Have stood first or second in the previous class
Note: There is no income limit to apply for the scholarship
Stipend
For SBC/VJNT students:
- The students of Class 5 to 7 will receive a scholarship amount of INR 200 per annum
- The students of Class 8 to 10 will receive a scholarship amount of INR 400 per annum
For SC students:
- The students of Class 5 to 7 will receive a scholarship amount of INR 50 per month for 10 months
- The students of Class 8 to 10 will receive a scholarship amount of INR 100 per month for 10 months
How To Apply
Eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship through following steps:
Step 1: Click here to register as a new user (Note: Candidate should have a mobile number registered with their Aadhaar card to ensure seamless and fast application process.)
Step 2: Complete the Aadhaar authentication process either through OTP or biometric.
Step 3: The candidates will receive an OTP on their registered mobile number if they opt for OTP authentication.
Step 4: Complete the registration process by filling in all required details.
Step 5: Log in using username or password.
Step 6: Complete the application process for the scholarship. Note: Once the applications are filled, the headmaster of the respective school is required to submit the proposals to concerned District Social Welfare Officer, Zila Parishad through Block Education Officer. For applicants of Mumbai, the proposals should be submitted to the Assistant Commissioner of Social Welfare, Mumbai.
